Packages, skillfully coordinated — wherever guests book them
Guests don’t all plan the same way. The extremes are guests who build their stay months in advance, and others who decide what they want only after arrival. Resorts need the flexibility to market packages at exactly the right moment — through PMS add-ons, upsell sites, or their own websites — without creating operational chaos behind the scenes. Strategic upselling works best when every purchase instantly translates into clear, coordinated delivery.
Planniac’s enhanced Packages functionality automatically brings package bookings into a single operational workflow, wherever and whenever they’re sold. Activities, inclusions, and entitlements become immediately visible to the teams responsible for fulfilling them, ensuring marketing opportunities can expand without increasing manual follow-up — and that the experience guests buy is the experience they actually receive.
Sell your hottest packages on Cloudbeds, on Planniac's Online Offers page (branded for your hotel), on your own website, or all three. Planniac breaks down, organizes and monitors the nitty gritty.
00:00: this tutorial explains how to add a package in the planning yakin
00:04: You will learn to create configure and manage package details effectively.
00:11: Let's look at how to set up your packages first.
00:15: Make sure all the activities you're going to include in the package are already created.
00:20: Click the add activity button.
00:22: And that opens up a new window for creating a new activity.
00:30: Give your activity a name. In this case, we're going to name it the 'Fire and Ice Package'.
00:41: Select the activity type 'Package.'
00:43: Then you need to also select that this activity type is a package.
00:48: You'll select your provider in most cases, this will be your hotel but you'll be able to select from other providers of packages that you've set up.
01:02: Now decide whether a meal plan should be included in this package. I'm going to choose 'all meals included'.
01:15: Next, we're going to start entering the package detail.
01:19: Add the activities that you're going to include.
01:31: This is going to be round trip airport transfers.
01:35: My provider will most likely be the hotel shuttle, but I could always change that anytime I'm booking an activity for a guest.
02:00: Then I'll add another activity.
02:03: This one's going to be a tour. I'm going to add the guided hike to the volcano and I'm going to use our hotels tour. Operator for that.
02:19: And I'm also going to include a cancellation status.
02:27: Let's add another activity.
02:31: I'm going to add another tour.
02:35: We'll choose 'snowmobiling on the glacier'.
02:39: And again, I'm going to use my in-house tour operator for that. Remember that all these activities had to be set up first.
02:58: When I'm finished, I can save it and my package is already going to work.
03:03: But I want to come back and look at the online offers and CloudBad's add-on settings and set this package to work with those.
03:11: I'll add some other important details too.
03:15: I decided I was going to add an image. This is easy to do just by selecting and uploading an image from your desktop. And then I pasted in a nice marketing description of things that are included in the package.
03:41: Now I'm going to set this package as an online offer.
03:45: Click "Show offer online" to open the settings.
03:49: It's really easy. All I'm going to do is copy the activity, paste it in, or rename it. I could call this the 'Big Blast Fire and Ice package'.
04:09: Then I have to select my display grouping which comes from the upsell settings. I'm selecting 'Package.' I think I'll go ahead and put that under 'tours' too. So I selected both 'package' and 'tours'.
04:27: And now when the offer is requested, I want to have a status that shows up that says needs review. You could use something like need to book. Those are customizable statuses that you can set for your own hotel.
04:41: And then the default provider in this case because there's only one provider for a package that pre-filled that for me. So now I will save
05:03: Let me find my package here. There it is. I'm going to open that up.
05:08: Notice the icon that indicates I'm going to use it for my own online offers upsell page – but I'm going to go ahead and edit this again and activate the CloudBeds add-on too.
05:23: So when you activate the CloudBeds add-on, you choose the package to connect first. In this case, I chose the 'Fire and Ice' package because that's what I called it on CloudBeds too.
06:03: And you see they have a little green dot next to them.
06:07: That shows that they're active. Let me save that.
06:12: Now le check it and set the price.
06:15: Here's my 'Fire and Ice Package' - notice it has the little arrow now next to the globe, indicating it's also a Cloudbeds add-on. Even though all of those individual activities are priced on their own, a 'package' like the 'fire and ice package' will get its price from this table that I'm opening right here.
06:32: So, this package is going to cost 650 dollars for each adult.
06:37: And since children are not allowed on this one, just to be sure the wrong price like, zero is never accidentally selected. I'm going to also include that same price in the child price setting.
07:09: So now Rihanna can scroll through all the offers that we've got for her.
07:12: And let's take a look at our package.
07:15: There it is.
07:17: Oops, go back.
07:20: Rihanna's going to order the Fire and Ice package.
07:24: There are two adults in her party and they're both going to participate.
07:29: So, she'll add the package.
07:34: And she can go to her live itinerary from there.
07:42: You'll see her meal plan at the top and she's going to see all the activities including the Arrival Day airport. Transfer the guided volcano Trek.
07:50: The glacier snowmobiling, but and the departure day airport transfer.
07:59: So how is that going to look on the planns page?
08:09: Let's go ahead and have a look at that. Here is Rihanna. Let's Zoom right in on this package by clicking the icon.
08:18: And there we have it.
08:23: Then you'd go through the normal process of selecting the status, adjusting dates and times, et cetera. And that's it.
08:37: We have added and configured a package and linked it with our online offers. And with cloudbeds, we set pricing and reviewed the guests booking process.
08:46: Now, you know how packages work in planning Act?
